Dream

I had a dream. i wasn’t me; i was another guy who i didn’t have a name for. I had a best friend who also i didn’t have a name for. One day after a while (2000 was the year) He suddenly vanished from his room in our apartment. I tried for years to find him; he left no trace aside from the breeze in his room. I could swear the breeze was him, shifting his things around gently to try to talk to me. but i couldn’t get it to happen consistently. I spent endless time trying to convince one man and woman that he was in there somewhere, to no avail. This was years ago, now - the dream.

I had another dream this night, today. 20 years had passed since the last dream, as far as the dream’s dating goes. Not the time I had it, which was less of a gap.

I found myself in an exhibit of his room, showing off a generic 2000s college apartment. The bed was messy, had tons of anti school stickers on it, and a small desk with nothing i can remember. There were clothes hung on a sign pointing to the bed. As i looked around, a strong sway hit the clothes. It was him. I got goosebumps, i shouted his name which I did not ever know. He made other things move as I went to look at them… He was still here. I nearly shed a tear, but I was so excited. I don’t think i ever told the man and woman, but i ran around the exhibit trying to find them. I spent the night in that bedroom. I woke up in the middle of the night to everything shaking and shifting and being lifted to a violently jagged and jarring degree, I had to get out! he must have been angry, he must have been holding it all in, I yelled out - and I was outside. Holding a box with his old kicks and nothing else I could identify specifically. Things that made sense. The man and woman were there - I told them, they look just as freaked out. I told them what it was, the same happened to them. I don’t know if they believed me. I woke up carefully in my bed. I think he finally got to rest once I laid in his room, and he exerted all energy he could until he burned out like a star.
